- Turn the ignition off
- Vehicles with automatic transmission:
- Move the gear lever to position 'N' or 'P'
- Vehicles with electronic parking brake:
- Apply the electronic parking brake
- Wait until the electronic parking brake is fully applied
- A confirmation message will be shown on the display
- All vehicles:
- Open the driver's door
- Push the door latch into the closed position
- The other doors should be closed
- Remove the key from the ignition switch
- Wait for 4 minutes
- Activate the transport mode
- Remove the fuse box cover
- Remove the shunt from the driver's side fuse box
- Wait for 15 seconds
- Place the shunt in the position for transport mode activation
- Note: Read the information below the shunt to identify the correct vehicle service mode
- Generic drawing:
- Press the shunt fully into its housing
- Pull the door latch into the open position
- Turn the ignition switch ON
- Wait for 1 second
- Disconnect the battery
- Remove the dashboard cover at the driver's side
- Remove the clips
- Remove the footwell cover
- Use the special tool
- Unclip the wiring
- Disconnect the telematics control unit electrical connections
- Disconnect the telematics control unit
- Remove the telematics control unit
- Check the backup battery charge status
- Use a diagnostic tool
- Remove the backup battery for the telematics control unit
- Installation is in the reverse order of removal
- Reconnect the battery
- Place the shunt in the position for 'Customer' mode activation
- The telematics unit activates after a timed delay
- Timed delay:
- Location:
- Turn the ignition off
- Vehicles with automatic transmission:
